Oasis in the Ozarks - Budget Friendly Outdoor Adventures

Spring brings adventures at the Oasis on Table Rock. Budget friendly options abound as you explore the great outdoors. Pack a picnic lunch before your journey. If you have kayaks or a boat, there is a boat launch 3/4 miles from the campground. It is a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk.

The Dewey Short Dam Visitor Center is 6.6 miles away offering an amazing place for families with interactive exhibits for kids and adults. There are breathtaking views from outside decks and picnic tables overlooking our gorgeous views. Explore the walking or biking trails around the Dam, don't miss the view of the dam overlooking the fish hatchery. As you leave take your family to Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery: Admission is free, it is Missouri's largest trout hatchery; offering live animal displays, interactive exhibits, opportunity to feed fish; bring quarters! As the weather warms checkout Moonshine Beach for a fun sandy beach adventure. There is a minimal fee for entry.

If you are looking for a more adventurous escape, head to the Grand Canyon of the Ozarks in Ponca, Arkansas. Enjoy the beautiful 1 hour drive. Amazing hiking trails, canoe adventures the Upper Buffalo in Spring is rigorous while the Lower Buffalo is better for families.
